5G Centres

Each UK centre focuses on specific themes to develop its own distinct identify, whilst working collaboratively with other centres to ensure the UK can become a leading player in the 5G market.

This will guarantee that Westcott benefits from knowledge exchange across the broader UK 5G research community, with the potential for investigating links, eg. JANET to promote academic collaboration.

Industry & Academia

Within the broad range of 5G capabilities, Westcott offers many advantages, giving industry and academics alike the opportunity to develop products, services and applications, particularly for the development of wireless applications.

Situated in a secure, controlled environment with 650 acres of open and accessible space, both academic and industry players, large and small, have the opportunity to test and develop their products and services without the risk of causing interference to existing systems. This will assist with increasing productivity and being first to market with new applications and services that develop networks capability, and will be a key factor in exploiting their economic benefits.

Westcott is also geographically situated for collaboration with academic institutes working in the areas of 5G, such as Cranfield, Open University, Oxford, Reading, Surrey and Cambridge.
